Sound Healing Blog
Sound healing is real. The myths around it are also real — and harder to
untangle than they should be.
This blog exists to do both things at once: explain how sound genuinely
affects the nervous system, the brain, and the body, and cut through the
marketing noise that's taken over the industry.
Every article here is written by, a sound healing educator and
practitioner with over a decade of international teaching experience. No
copy-paste wellness content. No claims that can't be backed up.
What you'll find here is grounded in psychoacoustics, music theory, and the
physics of sound — not in numerology, ancient frequency charts, or
unverifiable spiritual claims. If a practice works, we explain why. If a
claim doesn't hold up, we say so directly. That honesty is what separates
this blog from the vast majority of what you'll find when you search for
sound healing online.
Whether you're a complete beginner curious about what sound healing actually is, a practitioner looking to deepen your understanding, or someone who's been burned by pseudoscience and wants to know what's real — you're in the right place.
Sound has genuine therapeutic power. This is where you learn to use it wisely.

Musical Notation and Tuning Systems
Music is one of humanity’s oldest languages - a way of expressing what words alone cannot capture. Across cultures and centuries, music has served as a bridge between the physical and the emotional, the earthly and the divine. It has been sung in lullabies, carried through chants, and etched into instruments made from nature’s materials. But how do we preserve something as fleeting as sound? The answer lies in musical notation, a system of symbols designed to translate vibration into visual form. This article explores the fascinating evolution of musical notation and tuning systems, tracing their roots from ancient oral traditions to modern-day digital scores. We’ll look at how early symbols like neumes guided communal singing and how visionaries like Guido d’Arezzo revolutionized the way we record music. We’ll also explore the deeper layer of tuning, the subtle art of aligning vibrations through systems like just intonation and equal temperament. Through this... more »

Creating Sacred Space For Healing
Has anyone ever wondered what it truly means to create a safe sacred space? These words have been dancing around in my awareness lately, asking to be understood more deeply. As someone devoted to healing and transforming myself and others, I have been studying what it means to create safety within and without. Whether you're a parent, a teacher, a practitioner, a sound therapy practitioner, or simply someone longing to live more consciously, this is sacred work. Creating a safe space is two-sided. There is the inner and the outer, the feminine and the masculine, the doing and the being. Giving rise to safe spaces is more than just an idea or a trendy new-age phrase; it is a frequency. It is a vibration we embody, not just something we say. As we hold space, we set up a vessel of nothingness like a woman's womb. Where we remove anything from the space that does not serve the intention, including but not limited to judgments, thoughts, feelings, rules, ideas, etc. Think of... more »
Harmonics, overtones and timbre
We are constantly surrounded by sound. The sound of a car, the sound of people talking, the sound of cow bells, the sound of a dog barking, the sound of the wind in the trees and on and on. In these examples, harmony is not the goal, the sound is either the unintended consequence of a deployment of energy or the sound serves a utilitarian purpose- to warn or to locate for example. Conversely, we humans will frequently deploy sound with the intention of creating harmony. We delight in specific tonal relationships and combining tones and timbre in pleasing, delightful or interesting ways is considered an important aspect of what makes us human. What distinguishes arbitrary noises from sound arranged in a way that is considered musical is primarily the harmonious relationships between the frequencies, the judicious application of volume and the evocative power of timber. One single sound can contain great beauty. A single note on a piano, a cleanly struck Tibetan bowl or even the... more »
Active Listening As A Form Of Meditation And Sound Healing
"If you don’t listen, you won’t really hear" Dhiravamsa, Buddhist Monk Our relationship with sound reflects our reality and understanding of the self. We are exposed to sound constantly. Even now, as you read this text, your ears are working as radars. All acoustical signals around provide you with information. Maybe you can hear the humming of the refrigerator in your kitchen, or passing cars, or children playing outside of your window. It could be the sound of falling rain, birds singing, or anything else. Most likely you perceive these sounds passively and do not even pay attention to the audible background if it doesn't carry any information that is essential to you. However, if all of a sudden, somewhere nearby, you register a sound of breaking glass or of cracking wood, or anything unusual, your consciousness will shift from passive hearing to active listening. In the silent pause after the surprising sound, you will experience a moment of full alertness.... more »
